Golden Omega, our partners for fish oil concentrates, has reached an agreement with Friend of the Sea and Earth Island Institute to hold the Dolphin-Safe logo for all the Omega-3 concentrates and derived products. The certification and right to use the logo are granted  to companies which are in compliance with the Dolphin-Safe requirements.

Started by the Earth Island Institute in 1990, the Dolphin-Safe project has saved millions of dolphins from being killed in tuna nets. Dolphin deaths in tuna nets have declined by 99 percent since 1990. For Golden Omega this achievement is a natural consequence of using only pure anchovies from Chilean and Peruvian waters and from Friend of the Sea certified sources.

There is no doubt that ingredients for beauty are trendy in the Food Supplements Industry.

OPTIMSM® a researched pure form of MSM (methylsulfonylmethane) is a rich source of sulphur (34% by weight). In recent years, the manufacturers of OptiMSM® has employed the most cutting-edge technology to research how OptiMSM® works to support healthy, younger skin. Findings have demonstrated that OptiMSM® may reduce fine lines and wrinkles, improve skin texture and elasticity and provide overall support to the structural integrity of the skin. Furthermore OptiMSM® benefits may also help the skin, hair and nails to regain and retain a more youthful appearance.

A recent study showed how Pomella® pomegranate extract, ranked highest in antioxidant activity across a number of assays including ORAC, TEAC, FRAP and DPPH compared to 26 other antioxidant products. Pomegranate supplements (Pomella®) with the highest content of punicalagins showed high antioxidant activity, whereas those high in ellagic acid showed the lowest. Furthermore, another study Pomella® was shown to be effective at protecting human skin fibroblasts from cell death following UVA an UVB exposure, while increasing the intracellular antioxidant capacity, and reducing generation of intracellular reactive oxygen species (ROS) after UV exposure.

Naticol® a hydrolysed fish collagen, has clinically demonstrated its role as an ingredient in the anti-aging application over the last 5 years, with 3 different studies showing improvements in skin firmness and wrinkles reduction, making Naticol® a perfect solution for collagen peptide-based healthy ageing products designed for daily consumption.

It is known that hyaluronic acid and collagen complement and support one another. Hyaluronic acid helps collagen by providing a moisture rich environment where collagen can stretch without breaking. While collagen works on the skin firmness, hyaluronic acid nourishes and hydrates the collagen filling the free space of the skin matrix with water and giving it a fuller, firmer and youthful appearance. In a couple of clinical studies, oral supplementation of HAPLEX®Plus (branded hyaluronic acid produced by fermentation) proved to be effective, with statistically significant results on the parameters of skin moisture and skin elasticity.

Seaweed innovation has taken a huge leap with PureSea® Protect, a new microencapsulated Scottish seaweed powder. Golden Omega's commitment to preserve the purity and life of the South Pacific continues.

During this summer in the Southern Hemisphere, Golden Omega, as a part of their campaign "Waves Zero Plastic",  has carried out  a number of educational activities on the beaches of Arica (Chile), in order to raise awareness about plastic pollution,  a problem that affects different parts of the World which Golden Omega wants to prevent on the local coasts. So why is Pomella® standardized to Punicalagins?

Unique to the pomegranate, punicalagins are water-soluble, highly bioavailable, and supported by safety data. They are shown to possess a high absorption rate of up to 95%. Not only do punicalagins offer a powerful kick of antioxidant properties on their own; they can breakup into smaller polyphenols, known as urolithins, that are also absorbed into the body and extensively metabolized.
