Ashwagandha A 3.5% Total Withanolides
Ashwagandha, or Withania somnifera (WS), holds a special place in several traditional Ayruvedic preparations similar to ginseng in Traditional Chinese Medicine. Traditionally, ashwagandha was categorized as a Rasayana, or rejuvenator, for its wide-ranging health benefits; said to “promote a youthful state of physical and mental health and expand happiness.” The properties ascribed to Rasayanas in Ayurveda are remarkably similar to the definition of adaptogens today; a natural substance considered to help the body adapt to stress.
