PureSea® Seaweed is a range of natural, healthy and innovative seaweed ingredients which is sourced from the pristine and remote Scottish waters. The sustainable wild harvesting is undertaken by carefully selecting the best sites and cutting the seaweed using specialist vessels and techniques (watch a short video here). The seaweed is then dried and further processed in dedicated food grade facilities.

Each batch of PureSea® is tested to specification for safety, quality and key aspects of nutrition. Furthermore, on-line transparent traceability is available for customers to discover where each batch was harvested, with photographs and maps, certification, unique DNA Authentication, even down to the name of the individual harvesters.

Scientific literature provides extensive evidence of widespread magnesium deficiency and the potential need for magnesium repletion in diverse medical conditions. Magnesium is an essential element required as a cofactor for over 300 enzymatic reactions and is therefore necessary for the biochemical functioning of numerous metabolic pathways. Inadequate magnesium status may impair biochemical processes dependent on sufficiency of this element. Emerging evidence confirms that nearly two-thirds of the population in the western world are not achieving the recommended daily allowance for magnesium, a deficiency problem contributing to various health conditions.¹

According to a recent review paper, produced by a collaboration between the School of Dentistry ant the University of Rwanda College of Medicine & Health Sciences and Harvard University, metabolism of vitamin D may be ineffective in people who are deficient in magnesium.

Tinofend® is a proprietary Tinospora cordifolia extract, standardised to active polysaccharides, with clinical studies showing positive benefits on immune function, antihistamine, adaptogenic and allergy support.

Tinospora cordifolia is an all-natural herbaceous vine native to India, commonly used in traditional Ayurvedic medicine. Ayurvedic physicians used parts of the entire botanical in their traditional remedies. It is widely consumed in Ayurveda as part of rasayana (rejuvenators), and its Sanskrit name, Amrita, translates to “immortality”.

Scientific research on Tinofend® has shown significant decrease of symptoms related to allergic rhinitis, stimulation of the activity of white blood cells, which regulate the immune response and reduction of the number of eosinophils (immune cells that release histamine). This makes Tinofend® an interesting ingredient for allergies and immunity support.

Citrus bioflavonoids are compounds found in citrus fruits like tangerines, oranges, and grapefruit. Research on Citrus bioflavonoids has shown a variety of benefits which have made this ingredient ideal for applications targeting support for the immune system, respiratory health, cognitive health, vascular integrity, metabolism, cholesterol, joint health and systemic antioxidant support among others.

Hesperidin is a bioflavonoid, which has been reported to boost recovery after intense exercise by improving oxidation and inflammation. A recent study (2021) mentioned on Nutraingredients has shown that acute and chronic intake of 500mg of 2S-hesperidin in amateur cyclists, significantly improved anaerobic performance.
