A recent study¹ compared the prebiotic effects of three well-known dietary fibres of various specificity (i.e. structural complexity) on the intestinal microbiota of healthy adults. Results demonstrated that Benicaros® significantly increased a broad spectrum of operational taxonomic units with 40% lower gas production than traditional prebiotics. Benicaros® selectively stimulated species of bacteria that were consistently present among human adults, resulting in lower microbiota composition differences between subjects.
