A recently published study (2021) with Bacognize®, reported numerous findings in emotional and mental wellbeing, alertness, focus, impact on sleep, stress, and other quality of life markers.

The ability of Bacognize® to help with alertness and focus has been seen in previous clinical studies, including when subjects were under stressful test taking circumstances (Kumar et al, 2016)¹. Previous studies also have looked at the mechanistic abilities of Bacognize® to interact on HT1a receptors associated with serotonin uptake. With this knowledge, researchers examined the ability of Bacognize® to act as an adaptogen, modulating the serotonin / melatonin pathways associated with alertness, focus, and a healthy circadian rhythm.

A new study finds that iodine deficiency significantly decreases fertility success in females. Iodine is an essential component of the thyroid hormones T3 and T4, which means that inadequate intake can result in hypothyroidism (an underactive thyroid). This can result in subsequent adverse effects on female fertility by impairing the developmental process of ovarian follicles and ovulation¹.

It is imperative that women of childbearing age – particularly those who are hoping to conceive in the future – achieve an adequate iodine intake, as neurological development of the foetus begins in very early pregnancy². Despite this, Europe is now considered an iodine deficient continent³.

LEHVOSS Nutrition is pleased to announce that Longvida® Optimized Curcumin® has won the “Nutrition Research Project” at the Nutraingredients USA Awards 2021. The award was obtained thanks to the recent 12-weeks, double-blind, placebo-controlled, partial replication study published in 2020, which confirmed further evidence of Longvida® benefits to mood and working memory in healthy older people.

The research addresses a global public health concern regarding the need for cognitive support through improved mood, working memory, spatial memory, concentration, sustained attention, and fatigue. Many of these attributes have been linked to cognitive decline.

Iodine can be found naturally in a few food sources, particularly white fish, dairy and seaweed – with seaweed being the only natural and good source of this essential nutrient iodine. For artificial supplementation, synthetic potassium iodide is used. One way in which synthetic sources of iodine differ from natural sources is the way in which the body absorbs the nutrient. Iodine is an essential nutrient in the diet, and one that is increasingly lacking. In a recent report from the Iodine Global Network cites an EU funded project that concludes “Europe is an iodine deficient continent”.
