Witholytin® – Your New Favourite Adaptogen

Our high quality Ashwagandha (WITHOLYTIN®) ingredient has been developed and validated by Verdure Sciences® (the makers of the top leading curcumin brand Longvida®), and provides potent antioxidant activity whilst improving the body’s natural defences via cell-mediated immunity. It is a signature botanical ingredient standardised in total withanolides from the roots, with numerous studies supporting its benefits on the human mind and body.

There are about 40 withanolides in Withania somnifera, each with a different neurochemical effect on the body. Verdure Sciences® has developed and validated a UHPLC−PDA method for the simultaneous estimation of 11 withanolides.1

Unfortunately, the vast majority of ashwagandha extract manufacturers across the world estimate withanolide content by in-house HPLC methods without disclosing identified bioactive withanolides used when reporting total withanolide content.

Not only can inadequate, or insufficient, disclosure of total withanolide content create confusion, it also leads to quality and adulteration concerns for the industry, distrust by end consumers, and lack of transparency.

Ensuring botanical identity and quality is best achieved through full transparency and traceability. That is why we have decided to partner with Verdure Sciences® to offer a high quality ashwagandha.

Did you know that…

Ashwagandha is a very well-known natural adaptogen that has been used in several traditional Ayruvedic preparations, similar to ginseng in Traditional Chinese Medicine. It has a wide range of health benefits, including increasing energy, memory ability and strength in humans, and is said to “promote a youthful state of physical and mental health and expand happiness”.2
