Zooca® Calanus Oil boasts a comprehensive fatty acid profile, featuring 40 distinct fatty acids that are naturally bound within the oil’s unique natural form called wax esters. It contains essential Omega-3s such as EPA, DHA, and SDA, as well as monounsaturated fats like Omega-7 and Omega-11.

In addition to these beneficial fats, the oil is enriched with valuable nutrients, including Marine Policosanols and Astaxanthin. Zooplankton is a naturally renewing marine resource in the Norwegian Sea, with the Calanus population replenishing annually. While an estimated 290 million tonnes of Calanus are produced each year, only approximately 0.0005% of this biomass is harvested for the production of Zooca® Calanus Oil. The harvesting process uses a patented towing system designed to reduce by-catch and limit disturbance to non-target marine organisms. To preserve the nutrient profile and ensure optimal freshness, Calanus is immediately frozen on board following capture.
