Sustainable Report Highlights: WokVel™ Boswellia

Sustainability is built into every step of Verdure Sciences®’ supply chain. A standout example is the recent initiative surrounding WokVel™ Boswellia.

In 2023, Verdure Sciences® launched a Boswellia serrata reforestation project, supported by a three-year maintenance and monitoring partnership with the Forest Department. Focused on restoring native forests and supporting local communities, the initiative has already achieved a 50% tree survival rate.

Encouragingly, the protected site is now showing early signs of natural ecosystem regeneration, marking a promising step toward long-term environmental impact.

Boswellia serrata, or salai, yields the valuable salai-guggul resin, a vital source of income for the Indigenous Sahariya tribe. This initiative not only contributes to the conservation of native species but also enhances the economic stability and well-being of local communities through sustainable harvesting practices.

Over the years, Verdure Sciences® have expanded its sustainability programs, earned certifications, and reported progress annually. Initiatives at its headquarters align with multiple UN Sustainable Development Goals, including tree canopy enhancement, pollinator habitat support, and on-site gardens to promote employee wellness. The company has installed solar panels at their manufacturing facility, cutting energy use by 20%, switched to sustainable packaging, and reduced transit emissions by shipping directly to customers from India. Its Regenerative Water Body Project and science-backed sourcing programs also protect soil and water health at the source.

WokVel™ Boswellia Extract is standardized to a proprietary, natural full spectrum of six major boswellic acids, targeting 5-lipoxygenase (5-LOX). Research supports its role in promoting joint integrity and healthy aging. For more about this ingredient, visit our Health Platform or contact us!
