In July (2025) HCPI Media sat down with Dr. Qi Jia, PHD - Chief Scientific Officer of Unigen Inc. - to discuss the growing need for safe, effective joint health solutions and the unique synergy between Univestin® and AmLexin™ as a potential, innovative solution.
We at LEHVOSS Nutrition have prepared an exclusive summary of this interview for our customers, highlighting key insights and takeaways from Dr Jia. Click here to download.
When asked about the main findings of a preclinical in vivo study1, Dr Jia explained that this combination demonstrated significant improvements in cartilage production, reduced pain sensitivity, and protection against cartilage degradation.
Additional key findings showed a reduction in urinary biomarkers of cartilage degradation (uCTX-IIa), reinforcing the joint-protective benefits of combining Univestin® with AmLexin™.
These findings are particularly relevant given the global rise in Osteoarthritis (OA) which is driven by the growing physically-active aging population. Natural compounds – like Univestin® and AmLexin™ – help to regulate COX/LOX pathways, neutralising free radicals and maintaining the balance between cartilage wear and repair. Natural compounds offer mild, balanced, and multifunctional effects which are feasible to incorporate into a daily nutritional diet for lifelong joint care, alongside lifestyle changes and other supportive therapies.
With Univestin® known for its anti-inflammatory and analgesic actions, and research on AmLexin™ suggesting it could support cartilage degradation – these two ingredients could be the missing factor in your next Joint Support supplement.
Discover the synergistic benefits of Univestin® and AmLexin™, and learn how this could be the foundation for your next joint health and healthy aging innovation.
