The Pomella® Pomegranate programme combines agricultural development initiatives, processing technology and grower engagement. As part of Verdure's Sustainable Procurement Programme (SPP), Pomella® Pomegranate introduced 28,000 pomegranate plantlets to 40 farmers across 75 acres in June 2024. By February 2025, the programme had exceeded its initial targets, reaching 30,000 plantlets distributed to 44 farmers across 80 acres. The first commercial harvest is expected in September 2026, with increased production volumes anticipated from 2027 onwards. In addition, the introduction of a new pomegranate processing machine has reduced water consumption during processing by 50%.

Pomella® Pomegranate Extract is standardised to bioavailable punicalagins and natural polyphenols. This breakthrough, sustainable, clean-label formula delivers benefits through antioxidant polyphenols, particularly ellagitannins like punicalagins and their gut-derived metabolites, urolithins. Studies suggest Pomella® may support skin health by influencing the skin-gut axis, stimulating a balanced skin microbiome, and promoting beneficial bacteria for gut health. Other research highlights its potential benefits for cardiovascular, cognitive, oral, cartilage health, and more.
