Pet owners more than ever, are increasingly paying attention to key ingredients in pet food and feed (1). Regenasure® is the only GRAS, non –animal derived glucosamine HCL produced in the USA by Cargill,  that offers consistent quality, traceability and supply chain reliability.

A big concern for horse owners is keeping their horses comfortable. A significant percentage of mature horses have some degree of joint health issues especially, performance horses. In recently presented research using Regenasure® glucosamine hydrochloride, the authors concluded that "These results indicate potential for oral glucosamine HCl to positively mitigate intra-articular inflammation and influence cartilage turnover in a young growing horse model"(2). More research is needed but, these results in a live horse model are encouraging and point towards a bright future for products in the joint health category.

Regenasure® allows pet food manufacturers to capture value with products that target the joint health market. Cargill’s Regenasure® glucosamine HCl is Generally Recognized As Safe (GRAS) for use in pet food and/or animal feed for dogs (up to 60 mg/kg bw/day), cats (up to 50 mg/kg bw/day) and horses (up to 30 mg/kg bw/day). An independent panel of experts, composed of respected veterinarians, completed a comprehensive review of the product’s safety and toxicology data and issued a favourable GRAS opinion (*)

We have also developed an "easy to tablet" grade for direct compression called Vegeetab®.  For more information, visit our dedicated page or Contact us.
